L'homme armé: Variations for Wind Ensemble This
music was commissioned by Timothy & Hilary Reynish in memory of
their third son William. It was composed for and first performed by
the Guildhall Symphonic Wind Ensemble under Peter Gane.
There have since been (as of June 2006) at least 55 performances. In 2005 John Boyd led the Philharmonia à Vent in a fine performance recorded for the acclaimed Klavier Music CD Ghosts (K11150). This work is published by Maecenas Music. |
When I decided
to write a work based on this ancient tune I had to balance three
competing and apparently incompatible intentions. Christopher
